Mr. Alkire has defended felonies and misdemeanors ranging from driving under the influence to death penalty murder.
Mr. Alkire has more than 28 years of experience in private practice as defense counsel, as well as over 10 years of experience as a Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles and Monterey Counties.
Mr. Alkire has been a member of the Criminal Law Section of the Nevada County Bar Association from 2003-present. He serves a liaison between that group and the Criminal Court Committee of the Nevada County Superior Court.
Mr. Alkire is a former member of the federal Criminal Justice Act attorney panels of the United States District Courts for the Central District (Los Angeles) and Eastern District (Sacramento) of California. These panels provide representation to indigent defendants when the Federal Defender offices have a conflict of interest.
Mr. Alkire served as a Special Master in Los Angeles County from 1985 through 1988 for execution of search warrants pursuant to California Penal Code ยง1524. In this capacity, he took part in execution of search warrants at a medical clinic, law office, and hospital.
